Last week the children in Year 3 and 4 held a successful fundraising afternoon in aid of the Koala Rescue in Queensland, raising £264 for this great cause.

As part of their PSHE topic of ‘Dreams and Goals’ pupils thought about others that might need help and chose this cause as they had heard much about the wildfires in Australia earlier in the year.  As part of their lessons they planned their stalls, made the advertising and prepared all that they needed.

During the afternoon of the sale, the rest of the school, staff and parents had a chance to sample their fantastic stalls.  As well as sweets, cakes and drinks being sold, there was also a huge range of games, activities and crafts for people to enjoy.

Children were delighted to receive a letter from the team at Queensland Koala Rescue thanking them for their efforts and giving them an update about some of the koalas that they were currently caring for.

Well done Year 3 / 4 and thank you to Mrs Williams and Mrs Davey for organising the afternoon.
