Year 3 / 4 Home Learning

We are committed to ensuring that your child is still learning as much as possible and endeavour to do our absolute best to keep this happening. We will be in communication with you via this page, parent mail and purple mash as much as possible.  If you need to contact any of the team about your child’s learning please email us –

Home Learning

 Ideally, we would like every child to do the following each day;

  • Spend around 30 minutes completing the Writing task for the day
  • Spend around 30 minutes completing the Maths task for the day
  • Practise Times Tables for 10-15 minutes
  • Practise Spellings for 10-15 minutes
  • Complete the task set from another subject area (about 30- 45 minutes)

Structured Activities

These activities will need an adult to either work with the children or check their work afterwards so that they get the most from their learning.

Activities can be spread out across the day to suit your circumstances.

Your child should continue reading their normal school books and they have brought additional books home. Encourage them to complete the reading diary as normal.  Children who are currently on the Big Cat Reading Scheme have also been sent the link to access these books as e-books.

Please work through the tasks laid out in the learning for this week.

Please spend 10-15 minutes each day practising the spellings you have been set and learning some of the words from the statutory spelling list.

Please work through the tasks laid out in the learning for this week.

Times Tables

Please spend 10-15 minutes each day learning any times tables that your child doesn’t yet know fluently.  This can be supplemented by playing Timestables Rockstars.

Foundation Subjects

Please choose one subject each day and complete the activity set.

All learning is also uploaded onto Purple Mash. There are many other activities and tasks on Purple Mash, if you need any help with how to access this then you can find a Parent Guide on the Home Learning – General tab of the website.
